Steve Finkelstein Steve Finkelstein completed a crash programming course at Seneca College in the summer of 1981. His first opportunity in the computer field was as a Detran programmer for Manulife. This was followed by a contract Cobol programming stint for Echlin Canada. Steve started to work in the PC area in 1984 for Niakwa Management as their PC Support person. He provided PC support for both their IBM and Wang PC customers. After contracting for Office Data Systems providing PC support and customer service for their clients, Steve joined Kinney Canada which was owned by Woolworths Canada. He provided technical support for the POS systems and store equipment management. Steve worked on projects ranging from electronic store inventory to private credit card approval. Part of his mandate was to support connectivity between the PC community and the AS400 and IBM 3090. In 1994 Steve started the Byte Dr. Inc. The Byte Dr.’s mandate was to provide to small businesses an outsourced IT department. Services included providing hardware, software and network installation, support, maintenance and research for clients. Steve has continued to provide personalized services to clients throughout the Metro Toronto region.
